Emptiness

It may sometimes seem as if the life you are living is unkind. On dry days, although you are standing beside the well, you have nothing to draw out of it. Its depth is echoing the word, 'empty'. And so you thirst. Until the emptiness reaches your heart. Until the deeper and darker places in you find opportunity to resurface.

Braveheart, here's a little encouragement for you tonight. These 'empty and thirsty experiences' are all parts of simply being a HUMAN. Yes, you have feelings but there will be days when you WILL NOT FEEL A THING. You will not sometimes recognize which part is hurting anymore [experiencing numbness in many areas probably]. You will find it hard to smile or even give a cheerful laugh to those around you for reasons you don't want to confess even to yourself. You don't feel bad anymore when things aren't going well nor get excited about stuff that normally makes you happy.

These 'feelings' are real and valid. But hey, this is not who you are. In situations like this, acknowledging your emotions are important. However, remind yourself that these are all temporary. You are not okay but you will. You are just exhausted perhaps.

Just like the Samaritan woman at the well in the Bible (John Chapter IV), God sometimes will put longing or emptiness in our hearts so that He can lead us back to the realization that only HIM can SATISFY. Not the water of this world but the LIVING WATER. Only His perfect love, acceptance, validations, and His approval can make the deepest-thirst of our souls be filled. So, DROP THAT BUCKET! The bucket you are holding cannot even measure the overflowing love that the Lord can give you. Do not give Him that bucket. Give Him back your heart so it can be refilled. #emptiness #perfectlyloved
